Would you like to live forever?
If you were given a choice to live forever and be unable to die, would you go for it?
Do not answer.
Imagine how it would feel to live forever.
You would experience all there is to experience. You would see all there is to see. You would do all there is to do.
And what then?
There is a limit.
And there is a common pattern.
When a child is becoming a teen, he does now want to play Lego anymore.
Living forever would be like trying to make the child play Lego by introducing him new sets, bigger sets, more complex sets.
But the pattern is clear.
It is same with all things.
For example travel - once you traveled a lot, all trips are the same and differ only in details. In fact, once you traveled a lot, you cannot enjoy it as much. You are tired of the whole meta-trip thing.
Same with cultures, languages, people, relationships, work, business.
All these are not just categories but activities in themselves. And what you call different things in a category are just details.
You would get tired of all of it eventually.
There would be nothing interesting left to do.
Maybe you experienced something like that already.
Do you still play Lego?
Do you still care about cars?
Do you still enjoy hanging out with friends?
You will lose all these things eventually. They will be interesting no more.
But you will die sooner.
Before your self loses interest.
